Branched-chain amino acid catabolism in bacteria.

چکیده
The enzymatic conversions necessary for the catabolism of branched-chain amino acids have been reported to occur in a wide variety of bacteria. However, most studies have been done using several species of Pseudomonas. Pseudomonads are richly endowed with extraordinary nutritional versatility, which enables them to catabolize a diverse array of organic compounds (64), including the branchedchain amino acids. In a recent review of the regulation of catabolic pathways in Pseudomo-

Common enzymes of branched-chain amino acid catabolism in Pseudomonas putida.
Two types of Pseudomonas putida PpG2 mutants which were unable to degrade branched-chain amino acids were isolated after mutagenesis and selection for ability to grow on succinate, but not valine, as a sole source of carbon. These isolates were characterized by growth on the three branched-chain amino acids (valine, isoleucine, and leucine), on the corresponding branched-chain keto acids (2-ket...

متن کاملEndurance performance and energy metabolism during exercise in mice with a muscle-specific defect in the control of branched-chain amino acid catabolism
It is known that the catabolism of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) in skeletal muscle is suppressed under normal and sedentary conditions but is promoted by exercise. BCAA catabolism in muscle tissues is regulated by the branched-chain α-keto acid (BCKA) dehydrogenase complex, which is inactivated by phosphorylation by BCKA dehydrogenase kinase (BDK). In the present study, we used muscle-spe...
متن کاملRegulation of branched-chain amino acid catabolism.
Catabolism of the branched-chain amino acids is regulated in part at the step catalyzed by the branched-chain alpha-ketoacid dehydrogenase complex. Previous work suggests both short-term and long-term control mechanisms are involved in regulation of the kinase responsible for phosphorylation and inactivation of the branched-chain alpha-ketoacid dehydrogenase complex. Recent work of this laborat...
متن کاملEffects of branched-chain amino acid deficiency in diets on growth factors, pancreatic enzymes activity and whole body proximate of Sobaity seabream juvenile (Sparidentex hasta)
On the current study the effects of reducing branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) in diets of Sobaity sea bream in a constant level (40%) on growth and nutritional indices, pancreatic enzymes activity, whole body chemical proximate and amino acids, was assessed. This experiment was conducted in Marine Fish Research Station of Imam Khomeini harbor during July and August of 2014. For these purposes,...
